GUYTON, GA (WTOC) -

A man faces several charges in connection with a chase that ended with a fiery crash in Effingham County.

The Effingham County Sheriff's Office said it started in Port Wentworth after a suspended license at a traffic stop. It ended on Kolic-Helmey Road.

During the chase, Garrett Joyner lost control of a Chevrolet Malibu he was driving and crashed into a ditch, causing the car to burst into flames, according to the Effingham County Sheriff's Office. Joyner then ran off into the Southeast Woods neighborhood where he was arrested.

Investigators say he faces charges including fleeing and eluding.
