LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) -

Police have arrested one person, and are currently pursuing two others in connection with a high level of methamphetamine distribution within the city of LaGrange, Ga.

On Sept. 18, officers with the LaGrange Police department and the West Metro Task Force traveled to 304 D Hill Street to arrest Gene Thomas and Amber Tucker, who both reside there, and already had active arrest warrants for Trafficking Methamphetamine.

Upon arrival, the officers encountered Anthony Moore, who attempted to flee the scene on foot. He was subsequently caught, arrested, and found to be in possession of approximately 2 ounces of Crystal Methamphetamine.

Moore has been charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Trafficking Methamphetamine within 1,000 feet of a School Zone, and Obstruction of a Police Officer.

The two suspects the officers were originally looking for were not at the residence.

The officers then obtained and executed a search warrant for the residence, finding approximately 18.5 ounces (approximately $56,000 in street value) of Methamphetamine, as well as $15,000 in cash.

New warrants have been issued for the arrest of Tucker and Thomas for an additional count of Trafficking Methamphetamine.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Thomas or Tucker should call Troup County Crime Stoppers at (706)812-1000, or the LaGrange Police at (706)883-2603.
