Flint River canoe trip is back on

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Get ready for some fun on the Flint. An educational canoe trip down the river is on for this weekend to support the Flint Riverquarium.

The Riverquarium had to cancel several canoe trips over the summer due to high water levels.

RiverQuarium officials say this weekend is looking good, and they encourage families to sign up. Education Manager Melissa Martin said, "All of our canoe trips are open to the public, but yes we've had some high water levels that unfortunately, we had to cancel several of our canoe trips, but the rain has subsided some, and the river's looking good."

The trip begins at 7:30 a.m. Saturday and will last six to eight hours. Another trip that length is set for November 9 with an all-day paddle scheduled for October 12.
