ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

34-year-old Angelina Benton, who was murdered in metro Atlanta recently, was a graduate of Albany Technical College. She graduated with a certificate in Criminal Justice in 2009.

She recently moved to Gwinnett County, and allowed a down-on-their-luck couple to stay with her. Police think that man, Robert Bell, shot and killed Benton, her 12-year-old son Joseph McDonald, and her 19- year-old God son Raynard Daniel.

People who knew her, say she was a giving person who was always willing to help others.

"Angelina was a good friend of mine. She was a caring person who loved people. I mean if you wanted to stay with her you could, until you could get yourself together. That's why I think its tragic, a real tragedy for her to die like that and get killed," says Robert Henderson, a student at Albany Tech, who grew up with her.

Benton's boyfriend was also wounded. Police recovered the murder weapon, an assault rifle.
