With information from the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia-

Keith Bowers of Jessieville, Arkansas, was arrested today by the FBI in Arkansas.

He was indicted in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia on September 13, 2013, charging him with transmitting threats in interstate commerce.

The government says Bowers made a threatening telephone call on August 16, 2012, from Texas to Carmike Cinemas' headquarters in Columbus.

The government says He threatened to detonate an explosive device during a movie at one of Carmike's movie theaters. If convicted, Bowers faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.00.

The indictment is only an allegation and the accused is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Melvin E. Hyde, Jr.
