BROOKS COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

A south Georgia deputy and a passenger in another car who were injured in a weekend crash have been released from the hospital.

State Patrol troopers say 32 year-old Brooks County Deputy Justin Taylor was driving his patrol car north on State Route 333 when 22 year-old Casey Davis pulled into his path from Highway 122.

Taylor's cruiser hit Davis's Chevy Malibu on the front passenger side where Linnie Hughes was riding.

Hughes was treated at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta.

Deputy Taylor was transported to Archbold Memorial in Thomasville.

Authorities say charges are pending.
