Panthers to hold tryouts in Albany and Atlanta

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Panthers team will be holding open tryouts for all positions at the practice field behind Albany High School on Saturday, October 12th. The team is also offering tryouts in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, October 19th at One Touch Soccer.

According to a release, the opportunity allows players to showcase their talents and skills in front of Head Coach Lucious Davis and his coaching staff to earn a spot on the 2014 Albany Panthers Roster.

Two contracts were offered at the fall tryouts last year.

Tryout Dates: October 12th (Albany, GA) and October 19th (Atlanta, GA)
Registration:     12:00 p.m.
Testing Starts: 1:00 p.m.

Registration Fees: $50.00 (Money due at registration, cash or money orders only)

$40.00 in advance Money Order only. Mail information form and money order to:

    The Valdosta Fire Department held a family and friends day Saturday welcoming 10 new recruits to the team.  The event allowed the community to come out and welcome the new firefighters and their families to the Valdosta Fire Department family.
