Albany firefighters test new technology

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Firefighters from across Georgia got a chance to inspect new equipment available to them Friday in Albany.

From giant fire trucks with the latest equipment, to turn out suits to protect them from flames, firefighters got a chance to try out new equipment put on display by vendors at the Georgia Fire Service Conference Friday in the Albany Civic Center.

Georgia Fire And Rescue Supply had their latest lithium ion battery powered hydraulic rescue equipment out for inspection.

Many of these companies have retired firefighters developing the new products to be used by firefighters to save lives.
