Georgia State Patrol says a convicted felon led them on a high speed chase and are asking for help in finding him.
GSP issued a warrant for the arrest of Willie James Bush.
Troopers say he led them on a high speed chase, then crashed a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox and ran away Thursday night.
Bush is charged with Obstruction or Hindering Law Enforcement Officer, Fleeing or attempting to elude, Reckless Driving, Driving on wrong side of road, Failure to maintain lane, Driving on suspended license, No seatbelt, Failure to Stop for Red Light (four), and Possession of Firearm by a convicted felon.
Officials say they followed Bush after he made a u-turn to avoid a safety check for child occupancy.
Troopers later stopped him, but say he drove off while they were checking his identification.
He then led GSP on a high speed chase before Troopers were able to perform a pit maneuver on his vehicle. In the process officials say Bush clipped a light pole which caused wires to land on one cruiser.
Bush then bailed out of the Equinox from a rear window, and ran away.
Bush was last seen wearing a multi stripe polo shirt, gray sweat pants. Officials say he has gold top and bottom teeth, and has other active warrants as well.
The trooper who was driving that patrol car that was damaged was not injured. If you have any information that can help authorities track down this man, call Georgia State Patrol at 229-430-6585.
