ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Albany firefighters received training this afternoon on what to do in case they are ever taken hostage.

Fire officials from the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency service were on hand this afternoon at the Albany Civic Center, educating our local fire officials on what to do if they are ever held hostage.

Gwinnett Fire officials say they feel this presentation is their obligation to the firefighter community because four of their own were taken hostage on April 10th 2013.

"We feel an obligation to the fire service to share our message, but the one thing that I've stresses here today is what we did at our call may not happen the same way for the next one," said Charles Wells, Assistant Chief, Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services.

Today hundreds of fire officials turned out for today's event at the Albany Civic Center.
