Habitat for Humanity Gets $10,000 Boost

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Habitat for Humanity gets a big boost from an Albany service organization. The Artesian City Sertoma Club gave the Flint River chapter a check for 10-thousand dollars.

Every year, they choose two non-profit organizations to support.

Flint River Habitat has been around for more than 20 years, and has built more than 150 homes in Dougherty and Lee counties.

"Were building three different houses this year. We have one finished, and we have a family moved in, and we have one ready just about to do a ribbon cutting, and then we have started on a third house and this is all about building houses so that's exactly where this money goes," says Ross Harrison, President of the Flint River Chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

The Club is accepting applications till the end of the month for charities who want to be considered as next year's recipients.
