Moody airman's home burglarized, set on fire

A Moody Air Force Base couple is without a home after authorities say burglars broke in and set it on fire.

Early Monday morning, firefighters responded to a fire on Deborah Drive in Valdosta. Firefighters believe flammable liquids were used to start the fire. A shotgun, two handguns, and two TV's were stolen.

Sergeant First Class Jonathon Santay and his wife Victoria were on vacation. They did not want to go on camera but said they lost almost everything except the clothes in their suitcases.

"We don't give our Air Force people enough credit, because they put their lives on the line everyday. And that's real sad when they lose their property," said neighbor, Billy Sarco.

Right now, the couple is staying on base. They did have renters insurance.

Authorities say they're pursuing a few persons of interest but have made no arrests.
