VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Moody's 823d Base Defense Squadron will hold a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Sept. 16 for an Airman who was killed in action while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Todd J. Lobraico Jr., 22, of New Fairfield, Conn., died Sept. 5 from wounds sustained when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire near Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan.

He was assigned to the 105th Security Forces Squadron out of Stewart Air National Guard Base, N.Y.

Though not officially assigned to Moody, the 105th SFS is considered a sister unit of the 820th Base Defense Group, and trains and deploys side-by-side with Moody Airmen regularly.

While in Afghanistan, Sergeant Lobraico was deployed with Airmen from the 823d BDS.
