MACON, Ga. (AP) - A trolley car in Macon has been named after the song "Dreams to Remember," a tribute to the late Otis Redding, a Dawson native, who co-wrote it with his wife Zelma.

NewTown Macon made the announcement on Monday, in honor of what would have been Otis Redding's 72nd birthday. The Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/16flrRr) that the event was attended by Redding's widow, Zelma, and children Karla Redding-Andrews and Otis Redding III.

Otis Redding was born in Dawson, Ga., and moved to Macon at age 5.

Terrell Sandefur, owner of Macon's SoChi Gallery, came up with the idea to name the trolley in a tribute to the late soul singer, who had hits with songs such as "Try a Little Tenderness," ''These Arms of Mine" and "(Sittin' on) The Dock of the Bay."
