Lowndes deputies solve residential burglaries

VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Two Valdosta men, Christopher Reese Pollette and Emanuel Trevino-Vazaquez, both face burglary charges after Lowndes County deputies recovered numerous stolen items taken from homes that were being vacated.

Sheriff Chris Prine tells WALB that investigators have recently been investigating incidents of burglary that occurred at homes on Briggston Road and Johnson Road South. The home owners had recently moved and left items, such as appliances, children's toys, yard tools and other items, behind with the intent of returning later and retrieving them.

Prine says the men stole the items and then posted for sale on social media. Investigators have recovered appliances, tools, stereo and television equipment and other miscellaneous items. The true owner of some of the recovered items has not yet been identified.

Christopher Pollette and Emanuel Trevino-Vazquez have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of burglary in connection with this investigation and are currently in the Lowndes County Jail.

Prine said that while the vast majority of purchases made on-line or from a social media site are legitimate, buyers should be cautious making sure that they receive a bill-of-sale, and the seller's correct contact information such as a telephone number.

The investigation is on-going and investigators are working to locate additional property that was stolen. Anyone has recently purchased items from Pollette or Trevino-Vazaquez is encouraged to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at {229} 671-2950.
