Voters hear from city commission candidates

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Voters got to meet the folks who want to represent them on the Albany City Commission Monday night.

The East Albany Neighborhood Watch held a forum with all the candidates in Wards One and Two. They answered questions from voters who seemed most concerned about gangs, crime, and keeping kids out of trouble.

Concerned voter Helen Young told us she was pleased with how many people showed up for the forum at the East Albany Police Precinct. "I'm very impressed at the number of citizens who turned out that are very concerned about the city and wanted to hear what the candidates had to say and the hopes that city could move forward on some of the issues that was discussed," she said.

In Ward II, Commissioner Ivey Hines is being challenged by Demetrius Love and Bobby Coleman. In Ward III, Cheryl Calhoun and B.J. Fletcher are running against Commissioner Christopher Pike.
