ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany will hold an observance ceremony Wed., Sept. 11, between 7:45 - 8:30 a.m. in conjunction with morning colors.

The base says: "Our nation, as it has several times throughout its existence, came together and united as one that day. We continue to celebrate the lives and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice on that day and use it as an opportunity, once again, to come together."

Col. Yori Escalante, chief of staff, Marine Corps Logistics Command, will be the guest speaker during the observance ceremony.

Escalante was working at the Pentagon September 11, 2001 when the plane crashed into the building.
