Original story 9/6:

Valdosta Police are looking for a shooter who remains on the run Friday night. They have a suspect they believe shot a man early Friday morning.

40-year-old William Earl Hollomon is wanted on aggravated assault charges after police say he shot a man around 1:20 a.m. Friday inside the Studio Courtyard Apartments on Ashley Street.

"Witnesses did see him leaving on foot. Officers arrived and checked the area but were unable to locate him," said Lt. Aaron Kirk, VPD.

The victim, 20-year-old Darrell McCloud, remains at South Georgia Medical Center. He's expected to be okay. But business owners in the area are shaken up that the shooter is still at large.

"He could be anywhere. He could be behind our building, hiding somewhere. How do we know? It's scary," said Lyne Patrick, who works across the street from the Studio Courtyard.

And with a gunman on the loose she worries someone else could become a victim. "It could be my brothers who run the store next door. It could be someone I love. Yeah I want him caught."

Just blocks from the shooting Valdosta Police remain on the scene hoping to catch Hollomon soon. But they're asking for the community's help.

"Hopefully we can get help from the community to locate him," said Kirk.

Police say Hollomon is armed and dangerous. If you have any information on Holloman's whereabouts, call Valdosta Police at 229-293-3145.
