Darton State College leaders are holding a news conference on campus to discuss heat injuries to three of its wrestlers.
Two Darton State College wrestlers remain hospitalized after collapsing from the heat during practice.
"In terms of reducing the workouts, giving extra water sessions, in addition to speaking with the team the night before about proper hydration and nutrition, taking some of those preventative measures, but ultimately that appears that it wasn't enough," said Darton Athletic Director Mike Kiefer.
At the end of practice Wednesday, two other wrestlers were rushed to the hospital. One of them is Ben Richards who is in critical condition.
Athletic Director Mike Kiefer confirmed that wrestling practice has been canceled for the rest of the week.
As WALB News 10 reported yesterday, three Darton wrestlers collapsed from the heat during practices this week.
