Two Darton State College wrestlers remain hospitalized after collapsing from the heat during practice.

Darton State Athletic Director Mike Kiefer just confirmed to WALB News 10 that wrestling practice has been canceled for the rest of the week.

As WALB News 10 reported yesterday, three Darton wrestlers collapsed from the heat during practices this week.

Alex Washington was rushed to the hospital during practice Tuesday afternoon.

He is still hospitalized.

Wednesday afternoon, wrestlers Benjamin Richards and Jaden Smith were hospitalized after collapsing during wrestling workouts.

Smith was released yesterday, but Richards is in critical condition.

A 4th Darton wrestler also spent the night in the hospital, but Jason Peters' injury was not related to the heat. He had a head injury from a weight.

Darton State College President Dr. Peter Sireno visited Alex Washington and the family of Benjamin Richards at the hospital today.

Sireno says he and the school are keeping both students in their prayers.

Darton will reevaluate practice policies based on these heat injuries.
