Car parts store bandit still loose

MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) -

Moultrie Police say a armed robbery took place Friday about 5:00, at an auto parts store on West Central Avenue.

The unknown man had his face covered when he walked in the store with a gun and demanded money from two store employees and a customer. Video also shows him getting their wallets and running out the store.

Surveillance video shows an unknown man walk into the Advance Auto Parts store on West Central Avenue in Moultrie.  Police say the man wasn't interested in buying any auto parts.

"The offender had a gun on him and had the gun pointed the employees, so the employees complied and the guy was able to get away with an unknown amount of money,"  said Investigator Raul Leal.

The video also shows the man throwing a bag at the employees, so he can carry the money out. Moultrie police say he wanted  more than just the cash.

"He also demanded the employee wallets, so that too was given to the offender," said  Leal.

Only two employees and a customer were in the store at the time of the robbery. They were able to give police a limited description of the man, because his face were covered.

"Had some dreads, a black male. He was wearing a white shirt at the time. About 5'8. He left running, but its possible there was a vehicle waiting for him," said Leal.

The victims called Moultrie Police right after the robbery. While they couldn't go on camera, they're happy everyone is okay,  knowing their store is in a rough part of town.
