BURKE COUNTY, GA (WFXG) -

It happened so fast, no one knew what was going on when Burke County residents saw blue lights flying down Highway 23 Monday evening.

"The State Patrol ran by and they were running about 100, 110," said Grady Mobely, he was in his package shop when the cars went racing by.

Leading police on a high speed chase, investigators said seven teenagers were riding in a stolen Mercedes from Dekalb County. Investigators a state trooper clocked the car going more than 30 miles per hour over the speed limit. When he tried to pull them over, they sped off. Their joy ride ended here, in this driveway. All seven started running. The state trooper caught one of the suspects. The others fled on foot to a home nearby.

"We located them after they walked to the subject's, the lady's house, and her son came over, and carried them to Girard to the local EMA station," said Burke County Investigator Joel Adams.

Investigators say the EMTs didn't know deputies were searching for the suspects. They identified the juvenile driver and turned them over to police.

"It just happened so quick and it was all over," Mobley said.

Two of the teenagers, 17-year-olds Nicholas Singleton and Drabion Ware are being charged as adults. They're being held in the Burke County jail. The other suspects, including the driver - range in age from 14 to 16. Their names are not being released because they're being charged as juveniles.
