Sherwood Christian's Anna Laine Brock entered Thursday's game against Deerfield-Windsor four strikeouts short of 500 for her career.
Like much of her time on the mound, the senior didn't need long to get to the mark in SCA's 8-4 win.
She caught the first batter she faced in the bottom of the third looking to reach the 500 strikeout milestone.
Brock, already the Lady Eagles' all-time strikeout leader, becomes the first player in SCA history to reach 500 career K's.
The senior started the game like she couldn't wait to reach the mark.
Already with a 2-0 lead, Brock struck out the first two batters she faced in the game.
In the second inning, she added one more. A nice defensive play by second basemen Keepda Thomas ended the frame.
Brock is considering several colleges to play softball, including Huntington College and Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL.
