We have to say congratulations to our Economic Development Committee, Led by Ted Clem, Barbara Rivera-Holmes, and Justin Strickland.
You can see new construction in several sites around town, that represent their hard work. Gander Mountain and Ulta are well underway near the Albany Mall. Party City just opened and Pet Smart will be soon, in the nearby Publix shopping center. Kauffman Tires will be located behind the CVS on Slappey Blvd.
All these exciting developments represent new employment opportunities, and helps to maintain Albany's status as the shopping hub for Southwest Georgia. Better Brands and Phoebe Putney Hospital are investing millions of dollars in two new warehousing projects in our industrial park near our newly renovated airport.
Building on this momentum, our Chamber of Commerce is expecting to add 200 new members this week, in a membership drive.
We hope you will keep all these positives in mind when talking to others, and share our optimistic outlook for the future.
