CRISP COUNTY, GA (WALB) -

Curb side track pickup is coming to Crisp County. The service provided by Advanced Disposal will start on September 9th.

Previously residents had to pay a tax to drop off their garbage at one of 18 different drop sites throughout the county. The new service costs $11.87 a month.

While the service is convenient, it also is a lot healthier of practice.

"Not having to put garbage in your car and exposing your children to materials or chemicals that might be in waste," said Municipal Marketing Manager David Dent. "To not have to put your children in that and in your car ...  it's a whole lot more environmentally sound."

The sanitation company is also working to provide recycling pickup with the county.
