BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Bowling Green Police say they arrested a 20-year-old who lives in a BGSU residence hall for rape over the weekend.

Police say the arrest comes after an incident just off campus in the 800 block of East Wooster Street early Sunday morning. Police were called to a home to investigate a sexual assault. Police say when they arrived at the scene they found 20-year-old William D. Jackson and an unconscious female in the yard of the home.

Police say their investigation revealed Jackson did not know the female, and that she was too intoxicated to consent.

The female was transported to a nearby hospital by the Bowling Green Fire Department, and Jackson was arrested and taken to the Wood County Justice Center. Police say Jackson lives in Macdonald East residence hall on the BGSU campus.

Police say the female was treated and released from the hospital.
