Poulan police help capture Worth Co. car burglary suspect

SYLVESTER, GA (WALB) -

A rash of car burglaries throughout Worth County may be coming to an end after Poulan Police nabbed 17-year-old Jazy Lee Jordan on Friday. Jordan is now being held in Worth County Jail.

Jordan is charged with 9 counts of burglary stemming from last Thursday. He was able to steal $53 in change, a DVD player, gold chains and bracelets. How he was able to steal them is reminder of a precaution every person should take.

"He went to one location then just went down the road and started opening doors," said Poulan police chief Larry Whisenant. "He wasn't actually breaking into the cars, he was just opening doors to see if they were unlocked."

Once apprehended, Jordan was linked to a rash of similar burglaries in Sylvester. Sylvester Police Chief Wayne Jennings says the investigation is ongoing.
