VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Lowndes County Sheriff's investigators recovered 27 dogs from property on Madison Hwy. in an ongoing animal cruelty investigation Friday.

Officials recovered treadmills, a large trailer used for transporting dogs, training tools, and dog medications.

Agents also found several marijuana plants and cocaine on the property at 5535 Madison Hwy. in Valdosta.

The dogs were taken into custody by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Humane Society of the United States.
