VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

A Valdosta man has been caught less than three hours after police say he robbed a 1 Stop convenience store Monday afternoon.

According to a release, Diante Boatman, 23, is anticipated to be charged with Armed Robbery.

Police say it happened around 1:00 p.m. on West Gordon Street when Boatman entered the store and was able to take an undisclosed amount of cash. He then ran away.

After 911 was called, police units in the immediate area were able to spot the suspect running. Officers pursued him on foot and were able to catch him in the 400 block of West Gordon Street.

A report shows cash and a handgun were recovered from Boatman, who was immediately placed in custody.

Police say no one was injured.
