MITCHELL CO., GA (WALB) -

New details Sunday in what GBI Agents are now calling a homicide investigation in Mitchell County. A 66 year-old man was found dead inside his home.

GBI Agents say several items were taken from Bobby Anglon's home and they're not sure why. He was found dead early Saturday morning. Now agents are trying to piece together what little clues they do have to find out what happened.

A killer is on the loose in Mitchell County after 66 year-old Bobby Anglon was found dead in his home on Morey Hill Road.

"It was sometime in between Friday evening and 1 a.m. Saturday morning," said Special Agent Bahan Rich.

Anglon's daughter Diane, who lives next door, says she was the one who called 911 for help after she saw her father covered in blood. She was told of what happened after the person living with her father came home to the gruesome scene.

GBI Agents say there were visible wounds on his body, but aren't saying exactly where. Investigators have been busy all weekend working the case.

"We did not find anyone that heard noises or anything like that. Basically because of the area where Mr. Anglon lived," said Special Agent Bahan Rich.

Special Agent Bahan Rich says the family noticed several items were missing from the home including a gray safe box. Investigators are making a list of the other items that were taken.

"We don't know exactly what was in the safe at this time. We can only speculate but we don't know what its contents were," said Special Agent Bahan Rich.

Investigators aren't sure if someone forced themselves inside his home, but his daughter believes the killer is someone who knew her father.

"We don't want to speculate about who or if it was someone that he knew just because at this point in the investigation we just absolutely don't know," said Special Agent Bahan Rich.

Rich says this is the second homicide in two months in Mitchell County, which he says is rare.

"We'll we have had a homicide in Mitchell County. We do not have that person accounted for. So yes, the public does need to take heed and take extra precaution until we find out who did it," said Special Agent Bahan Rich.

The disabled veteran's daughter says her father was a small, fragile person who could not defend himself.  And she's hoping her father's killer will be found.

Anglon's body was sent to the crime lab in Macon. Agents won't release the cause of death until those autopsy results are back sometime later this week.

Agents say they don't have any suspects at this time. If you have any information about this homicide, call the Mitchell County Sheriff's Office at 229-336-2033 or the GBI in Thomasville at 229-225-4090.
