ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

UPDATE:

Friday, GBI agents were back on the scene with Albany Police, collecting additional evidence at 405 North Jackson Street.  The body of Michael Odell was found inside the building on Sunday.

The Dougherty County coroner says autopsy results show Odell died of blunt force trauma to the body. Authorities are still trying to track down the people who may have saw him last.

"We're still talking to individuals. We're still trying to determine if there are more witnesses. We're still trying to gather information regarding suspects," said Phyllis Banks, the public relations media manager for APD.

The coroner says he believes Odell's body had been inside that building for about 10 days. Albany Police say this homicide investigation is ongoing.

Crime scene technicians were back on the scene at a home in downtown Albany building looking for evidence in the death of an Albany man.

Michael Gene Odell was found dead Sunday inside the building on North Jackson Street.

Officials report his body had  been inside the building for at least 10 days and was decomposing. Investigators say the weather played a role in that process.

Albany Police have ruled that Odell's death was a homicide, and say they found several lacerations on his body.

No suspects have been named in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
