WAYCROSS, GA (WALB) -

An Albany ex-con received a hefty sentence for his involvement in a violent armed robbery in Waycross. A judge sentenced Dexter Gary to 81 years in prison Thursday.

He and Evoyea Jones were arrested in October 2011 following a wild police chase through Waycross that ended in a crash.

Prosecutors said the men used an AK-47 assault rifle and handguns to rob Kent's Automotive where they tied two workers up and attacked an employee.

Gary was found guilty on several counts including aggravated assault and false imprisonment.

Jones testified for the prosecution.

He'll be sentenced to 15 years with five to serve.
