ATC, MCLB strengthen partnership

Leaders with MCLB Albany paid a visit to Albany Tech Friday to learn about the continuing partnership between the base and the college.

Commanding Officer Colonel Donald Davis met with ATC officials to discuss the different courses offered by the college that train students for skilled civilian jobs at the base.

Colonel Davis and Albany Tech President Dr. Anthony Parker say the relationship between the base and ATC will continue to evolve and grow much to the benefit of the community.

"All the jobs at the base that civilian workers do so that Marines can do what they do, we have provided some of those jobs," said Albany Tech President Dr. Anthony Parker.

"What a better way than to partner with the educational institutions in our area who are experts. They've got core competencies that we don't, so we tap into those best business practices and we'll be able to tap into that," said MCLB Col. Donald Davis

MCLB will soon host some Georgia National Guard troops who will attend Albany Tech to receive the Commercial Drivers Licenses through ATC as part of the troops to truckers program.
