ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An update now on the investigation into a body found Sunday in a downtown Albany building.

That building was condemned Tuesday.

Code enforcement officers, wearing masks to protect themselves,  placed signs on all the entrances warning people not to go inside.

The three people who lived there were told to leave.

Oscar Tinsley told us he was packing his belongings but had nowhere to go now.

Code enforcers say the building is not safe to live in but poses no danger to the neighborhood.

"It's been posted. we expect that no one will be in there," said Albany Code Enforcement Director Mike Tilson. "And ultimately it will be the owner's responsibility to deal with the interior of that building whenever he or she so chooses."

Tax records show Bob Brooks owns the building.

Albany Police have not identified the man found dead Sunday afternoon after a neighbor reported a foul odor.

They're calling the death "suspicious" as they wait for autopsy results.
