Albany Fire Officials say a fire that badly damaged an East Albany home Monday was definitely arson, and they're asking for tips to help them solve the crime.

A neighbor spotted the fire and called 9-1-1 around 11 o'clock Monday morning in this home in the 14-hundred block of Westcliff Court.

The home had been vacant for almost two years since the owner died.

There was no power to the home. And arson investigators say the fire was intentionally set.

"We found where a fire had been set in that bedroom on a mattress," said Albany Fire Department Investigator Sam Harris.  "Vagrants had been going in and out of the house through the door located in the dining room area.>

If you have any information about the fire,  call CR"MESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
