FITZGERALD, GA (WALB) -

Ben Hill County Sheriff's investigators have charged a Fitzgerald man with murder in the shooting death of a couple in April.

Patrick Shawn Fletcher, 31, is charged with two counts of murder.

Officials say he shot his neighbors Dewayne and Octavia Brown in the head. Their bodies were found inside their home on April 22.

Fletcher has been in jail since a couple of days after the murder on a probation violation.

Sheriff's investigator Patrick Hogan says they have a motive for the murders but will not release it.

Fletcher remains in the Ben Hill County Jail.

His girlfriend Tacarra Leverett was charged earlier this year with three counts of felony false statements. She is out of jail on bond.
