QUITMAN, GA (WALB) -

The Georgia State Patrol confirms what many suspected in the crash that killed three Brooks County football players in July.  The GSP has concluded its investigation and says that speeding and driver error were involved.

Jicarre Watkins, Shawn Waters and Johnie Parker died when their SUV slammed into a tree on July 9, around 9:30 AM on North Webster Street in Quitman.

Another teammate, De'Vron Whitfield, was critically injured and airlifted from the scene to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL., and was the only survivor.

WALB will have more on this story soon.
