Possible dog-fighting case investigated by APD


Albany Police say they are looking further into the discovery of an injured pit-bull dog found at a South-Central Duplex today.

Thursday morning, an Animal Control agent was conducting a follow-up at 825 West Lincoln Avenue and discovered an injured, male pit bull. He was taken to an Albany veterinarian by Animal Control. Two pit-bull puppies, not injured, were taken to the Albany Humane Society.

APD says an investigation showed suspected dog fighting had been conducted near Duplex B.

Two people who love at 825 West Lincoln Avenue were taken to the Law Enforcement Center for questioning only, and no Charges have been filed.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau have assumed the investigation which is ongoing.
