AMERICUS, GA (WALB) -

Americus' Jeff Williams is using is world renowned talents to help people back in his community. Williams is a designer and helped with the construction of the Perry Wellness Center.

"I've been so blessed," Williams said. "To be able to come back to my hometown and actually give back."

The Wellness Center helps people suffering from mental health and substance abuse issues.

Williams has spent the last year and a half working at the Wellness Center but before that some of his world earned worldwide acclaim. One of his paintings was displayed at the Louvre and also did work for the 2009 Kentucky Derby.

For now, he takes pleasure in helping others at the Wellness Center.

"To be able to come back and understand it and help others get through it," Williams said. "I didn't know I was going to be doing this, it just happened, and I liked it, so I'm still here."

Williams was recently asked to design a donor room in Atlanta's High Museum.
