Long, wet summer

A little good news. . .  More sunshine is in the forecast this week.

It rained 25 of the 31 days in July in Albany. We got more than seven and a half inches here, though that does not make the top ten for all-time July rainfalls.

Some other areas like Valdosta and Cuthbert did receive more rain. WALB meteorologists say there is some good news for those wanting some sunshine.

"We are going to see a little bit of a break from that patten for the next week or two. I do think it may come back towards the middle of August. So, enjoy the warmer, drier weather while you can." said WALB Meteorologist Chris Zelman.

The wettest July in Albany was in 1916, when the city got more than 20 inches of rain.
