Woman confronts burglar in her home

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany woman is speaking out for the first time since she confronted a burglar in her home.

Albany Police say it happened early Friday evening on Cold Springs Road. According to officials, a man kicked in a door to get inside the home, and was confronted by a woman who walked out of another room.

Police say the man ran away after she saw him. They searched the area after the incident, but have not made any arrests.

The suspect is described as a white male around 5'8" tall, wearing a white tee shirt, checkered shorts, and had a red backpack.

Police say the suspect drove away in a blue or black Volkswagen Fox. A Volkswagen Fox is a small two or four-door hatchback vehicle.

Since the incident police say another home in the immediate area fell victim to a burglary.
