Second body found in the Alapaha River drowning

UPDATE:

Two young men are dead after drowning in the Alapaha River.

Atkinson County Sheriff David Moore says crews found the body of the second victim, a black juvenile, late Saturday night.  Earlier in the night agencies recovered the body of a Hispanic juvenile.

Atkinson and Berrien County agencies are on the scene of a suspected double drowning. 

Atkinson County Sheriff David Moore, says they received the call around 7pm Saturday that two young men went under in the Alapaha River, off Georgia Highway 135, near the Atkinson County/Berrien County line.  Moore says the water is high and moving swift. 

Berrien County Sheriff Anthony Heath says they've recovered the body of a young Hispanic man.  They are still searching for the other victim, believed to be a young black man.  Their identities are not being released yet.

Several agencies are still on the scene.  Heath says they plan to search through the night, until they find the other victim.
