ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The Albany Police Department wants to know who drove a vehicle into the west side fence of Riverside cemetery, at the corner of Jackson Street and Cotton Avenue early Friday morning.

APD thinks that someone driving a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis, and that the driver left the scene.

It happened around 2:45 a.m. Many of the headstones are damaged. Several pieces of broken car parts litter the area. Police say they have made no arrests yet. City officials say they have already begun the process to repair the headstones.

Cemetery officials say that more than five head stones were damaged, possibly more. No suspects have been named yet.
