New Albany airport terminal cleared for takeoff

After many delays, the Albany Regional Airport has received a preliminary certificate of occupancy for its new terminal, and officials says it's full steam ahead to get it operable.

There are two minor issues to resolve, standing water outside the structure, and some electrical equipment that poses a tripping hazard, but these will not be hard to resolve.

They expect to move TSA equipment Tuesday night at Wednesday morning, and expect a Wednesday morning flight to go off through the new terminal without a hitch.

Officials warn passengers that some equipment is brand new, and will be in a new place, so they should arrive early for their flights.
