ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

If you let the grass in your yard get out of control, you could be charged with a code violation. Some people on Whitney Avenue complained about the grass at this vacant lot. Code enforcers determined it is too high.

Code Enforcement Director Mike Tilson showed us the measuring stick he uses to determine if grass violates city code.

"You can see in the green that's basically twelve inches and in the red above the green is more than twelve inches, so what I do when I show this to people I go into the lot like this and put the stick down and I show them that it's either above or below twelve inches," said Mike Tilson, Code Enforcement Director.

City workers will take care of the grass on the Whitney Avenue property.
