Dignitaries tour the new Lee County Elementary School


When students in Lee County return to class, some of them will do so in a brand new school. Tonight dignitaries got a tour of Lee County Elementary School that will serve students in the east part of the county.  

It can accommodate 700 students and includes a central rotunda with halls for each grade level.   The principal says teachers and students are excited about the facility.   

"I'm excited and I see them all over town just like the parent that just passed...their so excited about coming to a new school and we're excited that their coming," said Donna Ford, Principal, Lee County Elementary School.       

Construction of the 14-million dollar building was paid for mainly with SPLOST revenue.
