Lane Rosen set to run for City Commission

Lane Rosen Lane Rosen
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

The owner of downtown Albany's State Theatre is running for Albany city commission.

Lane Rosen is kicking off a campaign in Ward V. He hopes to improve the morale of residents and help create jobs.

Rosen says he's been trying to get this leaking fire hydrant fixed for three months with no luck.  He says that's an example of why wants to run.

"We need to fix the bad business environment around here. We need to stop giving loans from the city money to special groups that don't have the ability to pay it back. We need to be able to stop one of our own city commissioners from writing bad checks to the city of Albany, without any kind of penalty," said Rosen.

Commissioner Bob Langstaff has held the Ward 5 seat since 2002.  He hasn't said yet whether he'll run again.
