Two Valdosta men are behind bars after Valdosta Police say they robbed a man at gunpoint.
Breon Stubbins and Kadeem Harris are charged with armed robbery after Lowndes County Deputies found items Jaques Evans reported stolen.
He says the men robbed him at gunpoint Friday night on Old Statenville Road.
Lowndes County deputies pulled the suspects over on 1-75 later that night and found the stolen laptop and two guns in their car.
"He got a description of their clothing and their person. When they deputies saw them inside the car, getting out of the car, they matched the clothing description," said Lt. Aaron Kirk, Valdosta Police.
Valdosta Police officials thank the Lowndes County deputies for finding these guys once they put out a lookout.
The Valdosta Police Department says that they have two men in custody and they are being charged with robbing 28 year old Jaques Evans. He told police that the men stole $130 in cash and a laptop computer while they held him at gunpoint.
The incident happened late Friday night, and Breon Stubbins and Kadeem Harris, both 23, were stopped by a Lowndes Co. deputy on I-75 shortly thereafter.
Jaques Evans told police the two men approached him at the intersection of Old Statenville Road and Arlington Avenue, both pulled handguns on him, and ordered him to get on the ground. He said they took his property and ran away.
The Valdosta Police Department provided this report-
On July 26, 2013 at approximately 2351 hours, the Valdosta Police Department responded to the 900 block of Old Statenville Road in reference to the report of an armed robbery. Officers arrived and spoke to Jaques Evans who indicated that two African American males approached him at the intersection of Old Statenville Road and Arlington Avenue, both pulled handguns on him, and ordered him to get on the ground.
Evans stated that they stole his laptop computer and approximately $130 in cash, and then fled on foot. Evans gave a description of the offenders and Officers checked the area, but were unable to locate them. Evans was not injured during the incident. A detective with the Valdosta Police Department Persons Crime Unit responded to investigate.
The Valdosta Police Department was later contacted by the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) who had stopped a vehicle on I-75 that was occupied by two African American males who matched the description of the offenders.
They were identified as Breon Stubbins and Kadeem Harris. The Deputies located the laptop computer that had been stolen and two handguns. Stubbins and Harris were arrested on other charges filed by the LCSO.
On July 29, 2013, after having the offenders identified arrest warrants were signed on both Stubbins and Harris for Armed Robbery.
