Drug trafficker gets 30 year sentence

An Albany man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for trafficking cocaine and other gun and drug charges.

Monday morning Kevin Harris, 33, was given a 30 year total sentence. The first twenty years of that sentence will be spent in prison. He was also fined $200,000.

Harris was found guilty of cocaine trafficking, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and other gun, drug, and traffic charges on July 16.

Drug unit officers arrested Harris in December and confiscated thousands of dollars in cocaine and marijuana and a .22 caliber pistol equipped with a 100-bullet magazine.

The gun had been loaded with 91 rounds.
