ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A South Albany family was startled awake this morning after the sound of gunshots rang outside their home.

Officers responded to the home where the family was sleeping at W. Lincoln Avenue after several gunshots were heard in the area.

Once they arrived, they spoke with resident Sonya Dawson who says they heard something hit the front of their home.

After officers searched the area, they found what appeared to be a Molotov Cocktail that had been thrown against the victims' home. They also found several gunshot holes in a vehicle that was sitting in the front yard.

The bottle to the Molotov Cocktail did break against the victims' house, but did not burn anything.

Albany Police says there were no injuries.
